Senior Living Travel Experience

Travel History

Traveling has been in my blood since I was very young. My parents led trips to the Middle East and Europe for many years. By the time I graduated from High School, I had been to 43 of the 48 states and Canada and have since added many places to that list.

Senior Living Travel Experience

I have worked in senior living for over 11 years and have found that my people like to travel and like to travel together.  It is an opportunity to see places and have experiences they might not have otherwise as well as gain marvelous friendships through traveling together.

WHY I LOVE TO TRAVEL AND SERVE OTHERS

When I think about WHY I do what I do, I think of Lynette.  Lynette traveled with me first on a trip to Catalina Island.  She was a very quiet lady and didn’t move very quickly.  Quite frankly, I was concerned about how well she would handle our trip.  She joined us, though and I am so thrilled she did. After one event on an underwater boat ride where we got to see kelp forests and a lot of really amazing fish, I walked with her down the pier back toward our hotel.  I put my arm around her and told her how proud I was of her for coming on the trip and this event in particular.  She gave me the biggest smile I had ever seen from her and said, “I wouldn’t have missed it.”  It became very clear to me, right then, that I was supporting my people in truly living in their later years and offering them a chance to see and do things they could not or would not otherwise.  After that trip, Lynette was almost a different person.  She smiled more broadly and more often.  She was more outgoing and overall, had more fun.  I get the greatest satisfaction from seeing my people enjoy themselves and each other as we travel.  I’ve had families travel with me and watching them as they bond, just a little bit more, is so heart-warming.  I hope you’ll join us as we go to explore, see and do.
